Our Process

Every successful project has a plan.

Whether it's renovating your kitchen or creating your dream home, every project needs a properly structured plan that guides the renovation/construction process. At Genesis Contracting Group Inc., we have experts that can sit down and have your project professionally planned, designed, and installed. See below for an overview on working with us.

Preliminary Contact

Via email and/or phone we connect to discuss your requirements, location, timing and rough budget
Answer any questions and determine whether our company might be a good fit for your needs

Initial Consultation

Setup an appointment for our project manager to visit you at your property (free of charge). We do a walk-through together and discuss your ideas and questions (approximately 1-2 hours)
We will offer you a rough idea of the overall cost of the project you’re considering, and provide you with a quotation for the first phase of design/consulting services that would allow us to begin working together

Preliminary Design Services

For a fixed fee, our specialist design team and project manager will help you develop a conceptual plan layout that will meet your requirements, determine reasonably and accurately how much the construction would cost, and establish whether there will be any constraints or complications getting the necessary approvals from the city.
By creating a customized design, our team can work with your unique property or commercial building, making the most of the rooms you have and building any awkward points into the design upfront, saving money down the line.
You will be provided with an overview of key design and structural elements, styles, and layouts. We will also provide a non-dimensional floor plans (ie: bathroom and kitchen).
Once a budget has been established, working drawings are complete (if required), and specifications set out for the scope of work, we will provide you with a firm quotation that will include all aspects of the renovation/commercial construction project. We will also provide a clear and concise written contract, which explains the obligations of both Genesis Contracting Group and you as the owner (i.e. payments, change orders, site conditions, guarantees, and other assurances).

Project Planning

After all the details of work are determined, and you have signed off on the design, materials, and budget; the planning for your project begins! Materials are ordered, building trades are scheduled, and permits are obtained. This stage is crucial and requires great effort by all parties, as a delayed or improperly selected material can cause major delays during renovations/construction, at great costs.

Rough-in Work Begins

Prior to the commencement of any work, we prepare your home/commercial building for construction. Temporary partitions are set up, floors are protected, and tools are placed in a designated area. Work then begins with demolition and preparations are made for rough-in construction work such as plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, and rough carpentry. Progress payments for work are dispersed as set out in the quotation.

Finishing Work Begins

Once the foundation has been set for finishing work, and all rough in construction has been completed, you will start seeing your design plans come into reality: finishing carpentry, flooring, painting, fixtures, cabinetry, lighting, etc. Again, progress payments for work are dispersed as set out in the quotation.

Completion

After the construction of your project is complete, you will be asked to review the work and give final approval. We will then inform you of any regular maintenance required to protect your investment.
